This picture looks like I went wild with the hue/saturation slider in Photoshop and pumped the colors to insane levels. In fact, I was quite surprised at the ultra saturated red color that resulted from a sunset in Namibia. The sun was literally sitting on the horizon, and I was using daylight white balance. That, plus whatever atmospheric dust was in the air, caused these colors. I've never seen this in any of my pictures before or since. This is the Quiver Tree forest, and the trees really look like they are from the age of the dinosaurs. I used a 24-105mm lens for this shot set to 24mm, and my settings were 1.6 second, f/22, and 200 ISO. To achieve maximum depth of field, I focused 8 feet into the frame. I determined that distance by dividing the focal length of the lens, 24, by 3.
