Pano instead of wide angle

I am conducting the third of my four back to back photo tours, this time in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. This is the stunning Islamic complex of structures in Registan Square in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Due to structural problems with the original 14th century construction as well as a devastating earthquake in 1897, the religious site was in ruins until 1974 when, with Soviet support, it was restored to it's present magnificent state. Instead of using a wide angle lens, which would have made the monuments seem too far away and therefore less impressive, I made a panorama consisting of seven frames. I shot them with a 100mm focal length in the vertical format, and then stitched the frames together within Photoshop. From Bridge, I used the command: Tools > Photoshop > photo merge. My settings for all the images were 1/320, f/10, 200 ISO. The minarets are not perfectly straight -- not because of camera distortion -- but because of 14th century building techniques.
