The winds in Patagonia can be fierce, and this tree is a testament to that. The autumn colors in April are beautiful; in this shot, though, it’s the bold graphic design of the multiple trunks that provide the powerful visual. The original sky was solid white, so I used the new sky replacement feature in Photoshop to add the storm clouds. The software did an amazing job in placing the new sky in between all of the small branches and blending it with the original low clouds hovering over the tops of the distant mountains. I took this with a 24-105mm lens set to 50mm, and the camera settings were 1/160, f8, and 500 ISO.
