The blue city of Chefchaouen, Morocco is washed entirely in cobalt blue paint, and it's a stunning backdrop when photographing people, colorful wares, and even cats. I used a 17-35mm lens for this shot, and I stood about two feet from the foreground fabrics to make them dominant in the composition. Many people here don't like to be photographed, so I just waited for a passerby that looked photogenic to grab the shot. Due to the width of the angle, it would look to a non-photographer that I was only shooting the rugs. My settings were 1/400, f/10, and 2500 ISO. The depth of field was achieved due to the use of a wide angle lens, a fairly small f/stop, and the fact that I focused about six feet away -- which in this case is akin to the hyperlocal distance. My quick calculation for this distance -- which produces the maximum depth of field given the focal length and the lens-to-subject distance -- is to take the focal length of the lens (17mm in this case) and divide it by three (about 6). This is the distance in feet where the focus point should be.
