photographed this line of cars on my last photo tour to Cuba. I was struck by the combination of various shades of pink and red. The background wasn’t good, so I replaced it with a street scene on one of the main boulevards in Havana. The facade of colonial buildings made a much stronger backdrop. I then changed the color on two of the buildings to match the cars, and then I altered the colors of the distant parked cars on the street. The perspective is a little off because I used a 24mm wide angle shooting down on the cars to create a dominant foreground, while I shot the buildings with a medium telephoto. These fanciful colors and the 1950’s nostalgic cars, though, almost beg to be artistically interpreted. So, that’s what I did. My settings for the car shot were 1/1500, f/16, and 640 ISO.
