One of the native Photoshop filters I've had fun with over the years is Filter > distort > polar coordinates. There are two options in the dialog box, and if you like creative distortions, I encourage you to try both of them: rectangular to polar, and polar to rectangular. Much of the time you won't like the results, but sometimes you'll be surprised by the unique lines, the outlandish distortion, and the amazing shapes you get. This picture is my wife on a 19th century styled sofa, and first I ran the picture through Topaz Simplify 4 to make it akin to a painting. I then applied the polar coordinates filter. The lighting comes from a single floodlight.

Jim - Rosemary -- it is a cross between creative, crazy, and a chemically induced vision! Lots of fun either way you look at it.
