On my England and Wales tour, one of the highlights was photographing the feeding of red kites. There is a farm that puts out a lot of food at 3pm, and hundreds of birds hang out in the trees waiting for this daily event. I set my camera for birds in flight: 1/3200, f/11, and auto ISO on manual mode, and I switched from mechanical to electronic shutter. But I forgot to change the frame rate, so instead of shooting at 20 fps, which is what I wanted, I was only taking one picture at a time. The camera was on silent mode, so I couldn't hear the shutter. I was very angry with myself, but the truth is, there were so many birds that I was able to get a lot of good shots despite the mistake. In this image, I changed the sky for added drama. I chose to post this image because I like the way the bird is flying directly at the camera.
