When you think of humor in the context of animals, rhinos don't usually come to mind. Puppies and kittens, sure. Even bears, monkeys, seals, and more. But not fully grown rhinos. To me, though, this picture is funny. These are white rhinos I captured in Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya. The problem with the original picture, though, is that the environment wasn't attractive at all. So, I meticulously selected the four animals and digitally transported them to a beautiful landscape in the Maasai Mara. I then judiciously used the burn tool to create the shadows as well as added individual blades of grass in front of their feet. That's always the hardest part of the process. I took both images with film in the 6x7cm format, and the transparencies were scanned by an Imacon scanner.

James - Hi Jim, Well done!
I must say you did an excellent job in Photoshop of seamlessly turning the rhinos around so they are facing away from the camera.
