My photo tour group and I went to the famous Tropicana in Havana -- the inspiration for shows in Las Vegas -- and it was indeed dazzling beyond imagination. The photography was very tough, though, because the dancers moved quickly, everything kept changing every millisecond, the light level was low, and the seating was on floor level which meant people sitting in front of me partially blocked my view. In addition, there was a bright and very large video screen flashing abstract images behind the dancers (which didn't add to the show at all) that was completely overexposed when I exposed for the dancers. Still, using Photoshop, a high ISO setting, and patience, I was able to get some beautiful shots. The camera data for this image was 1600 ISO, 1/160th of a second, f/4, and the lens I used was 24-105mm.

Jan Todd - Cool shot, Jim! Would love to see more. I used to shoot high school Broadway show productions when my kids were in the group, and share the lighting and movement frustrations! It was always better when I attended the show all three nights - - by the last night, I knew when to shoot! I am LOVING your Cuba pictures.

Jim Zuckerman - Hi Jan, Thanks for the compliment. I just uploaded 21 images from Cuba in my exotic travel section of my website. More to come. Cuba is very rich in photographic material.
