I am starting another online course this morning in Photoshop. I call it the 'Next Level' and many of the techniques I demonstrate requires thinking outside the box. One of them shows how to add streaks of light into a scene, whether it be a forest, a dramatic sky, or in this case a night scene in Venice during carnival. I oriented the streaks to make them appear as if they were emanating from one of the light sources. In the original shot of the bridge, there wasn't a costumed model posing for me. I added the model, and that required meticulous work with the pen tool to select the small and intricate spaces inside the wrought iron fencing. That took quite a while. The evening in Venice was foggy, and that added to the ambience. My settings for the night shot were 1/6, f/4, and 3200 ISO.
