Surrealism

I created that surreal fantasy in several steps. The otherworldly background was made in the program Artmatic Voyager. I then composited the model of a velociraptor into the scene and placed a dead tree in front of the dinosaur. Finally, for the fog, I used the brush tool on 30% opacity. It took several attempts to arrive at a look I liked. The Artmatic Voyager software acts like a 3D environment, and that means you can change the direction of lighting (something that's impossible to do in Photoshop), change the point of view on the landscape, and zoom in and out of the scene without losing quality for myriad compositions. Once the background is created and saved, you can then bring that image into Photoshop and combine it with any photo in your collection.
