This is the famous Bean, a.k.a. the Cloud Gate, in Millenium Park in Chicago. I’ve developed a new photo tour, Chicago by Night, and this is one of the unique highlights. There are so many ways of photographing this reflective, alien-like structure that I found it to be totally captivating. It is the most visited tourist site in the midWest, and there are always a lot of people here. If you want to shoot it devoid of people, it has to be very early in the morning, like dawn, or very late at night. I used a 14mm wide angle lens for this picture, and my settings were 1/50, f/3.2, and 200 ISO. To combat the keystoning (the angling inward of the buildings) that occurred because I tilted the camera upward a small amount, I used Edit > transform > distort in Photohop. Thus, I was able to make the buildings parallel with the left and right sides of the frame.
