I photographed this unusual landscape on Caddo Lake in northeast Texas. The corridor through the bald cypress trees is called Government Ditch. It was dredged in the early 1800's to allow steamboat traffic to pass through. I shot this before sunrise, and it was quite dark, hence the high ISO. My photo tour group and I were in a boat, and a tripod doesn't make sense when shooting on the water. So all my shots from the lake were hand held. The original sky was bland and uninteresting, so I replaced that (using the Edit> Sky Replacement command in Photoshop) with the kind of sky that would provide the same type of diffused light. The reflection in the water had to mirror the sky, and for that I used the Photoshop plugin, Flood. My settings for this picture were 1/60, f/4.5, and 4000 ISO, and I used a 24-105mm lens.
