There are 5 rhino species in the world: white, black, Indian one-horned, Sumatran and Javan. The last two Indonesian species are, tragically, on the verge of extinction with 100 and 60 individuals, respectively, still living. I captured this female Indian one-horned rhino in Chitwan National Park in Nepal. My photo tour group and I were driving on a track in the park and suddenly, just 6 to 8 feet from the vehicle, was this rhino munching on leaves. We surprised each other. After it posed for our group for a couple of minutes (much to my surprise being this close), it trotted across the road and disappeared in the dense forest. I've been using smaller lens apertures in the last few years because I like as much crisp detail in my pictures as possible. My settings were 1/80, f/16, and 3200 ISO. I shot this with a 100-400mm lens set to 241mm.
