In memoriam on the 20th anniversary of 911 for those who were murdered by Islamic terrorists, I’m posting this sunset image of the Twin Towers. I took this in the early 90’s from a small plane I chartered to fly over lower Manhattan. At the time I was using a Mamiya RZ 67 medium format film camera, and I took this with Fujichrome Provia 100 (100 ISO). I didn’t record my settings, but the fastest shutter speed on this camera is 1/400th of a second, and that’s what I would have used to mitigate the vibration from the plane. At the same time, I would have shot wide open -- probably f/4.5 or f/5.6 -- because with aerial photography depth of field is irrelevant.
