There are so many types of compositions to be taken in Keukenhof Gardens. This shot is a little different. I placed my Sigma 14mm f/1.8 wide angle lens at ground level angled upward in the middle of a tulip patch. The perspective distortion along with the extensive depth of field created a unique view. For some of the shots, I laid on the ground and looked through the camera. For most of these low perspective images, though, I focused the lens to about 6 inches and took the pictures without even looking through the lens. That was more comfortable. It's hard to use the articulating LCD screen when the camera angle constantly changes. I had to take a lot of pictures, obviously, but many came out well. My settings were 1/1250, f/16, and 1250 ISO. In post-processing using Adobe Camera Raw, I added vibrance, saturation, and clarity, and I lightened the shadows and darkened the highlights.
