This is probably the most famous shot in Tuscany. It has been photographed in every kind of light, in all four seasons, in every weather condition, and from many different angles. In October, the sunset is remarkable in that the farmhouse catches the last rays of light while the surrounding land is in shadow. That contrast focuses attention on the house, and most successful pictures direct our eyes to the subject one way or another -- by light, by framing, by depth of field, etc. My settings for this shot were 1/500, f/8, 400, and I used the Canon 100-400mm lens on the 1Dx Mark II hand held. In post-processing, I used a lot of clarity in Adobe Camera Raw and then I added Pro Contrast in Nik Color Efex Pro 4.

Jim - Hi Bill, This is the Belvedere Farm. GPS coordinates: N 43.06493 E 011.61117.
Thanks, Maria.
Thank you, Bob. Yes, it's very much like the Palouse.

Bob - Really beautiful! Reminds me of the Palouse, but no farmhouse with a red roof.
