When photographing close to waterfalls, always have with you a microfiber cloth to clean the lens from water spray. Even a few drops can be extremely problematic because they may not be able to be eliminated in Photoshop. If a drop is covering the edge of a subject, for example, it could very well be impossible to replace the lines that make up that edge. Also, use a lens hood as protection from the water spray. Constantly check the from element of the lens to make sure it is clean and free of water drops.
