For the last evening of the white horses workshop in France, the rain let up and it looked like it was clearing. As we got to the location of the marsh and started walking from the van to the shooting position, rain started to pelt us and, along with the wind, it became a driving rain. No one wanted to quit, so we stuck it out and so did the horses. The mood was amazing, and the muted color tones were captivating. It was a very different scenario compared to the clear sky, sunrise and sunset lighting we'd been having all week. The light level was low, of course, and that necessitated raising the ISO. My settings were 1/1250, f/9, and 5000 ISO. I took this with a 400mm focal length on the Canon 100-500mm zoom.
