White Mountains of Kazakhstan

A very beautiful and dramatic area of Kazakhstan is Altyn-Emel National Park, and specifically the White Mountains. The mixture of colors in the rocks is amazing, and at sunset the intensity of the colors is enhanced by the low angled golden light. We had remarkable clouds today and that made the landscapes even more dramatic. I took this picture hand held with a 100-400mm Canon zoom, and my settings were 1/320, f/22, 400 ISO. In Adobe Camera Raw, I added vibrance, clarity, contrast, and a touch of saturation. For the next two days, I won't have Internet, so I won't be able to respond to comments until I return from the remote areas I'll be visiting.
