I've done several versions of this image over the past several years, but this one is my favorite. The three white rhinos were in Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya, and the ground they were browsing on was unattractive as was the background. I loved the arrangement of the rhinos, though. They were angled and spaced perfectly. So I replaced the entire environment, as well as the sky. The landscape is from the Masai Mara. The biggest challenge was making the composite look like the rhinos' faces were partially buried in the deep grass. In addition, their feet had to appear to be standing in dense grass as well. To do that, I meticulously selected each blade of grass and placed it strategically to make this look completely believable. Finally, using the burn tool on a lowered opacity, I added subtle shadows beneath the massive heads and the bodies. This is the kind of photography 'problem solving' I'l explain in my new online Photoshop course that starts June 25. www.jimzuckerman.com.

Jim Zuckerman - Thanks, Rohinton. I know it's expensive from the perspective of someone living in India.

Rohinton Mehta - I just love the way you composite your images. Would love to join your Photoshop course but have to give up the idea due to financial reasons.
