Spring is upon us, at least in many parts of the Northern Hemisphere, so I thought I'd post a picture of beautiful flowers in Keukenhof Gardens, Holland. If you have never been there, it's pretty incredible. It is 80 acres of manicured perfection. I tried to find one weed and couldn't! I'm thinking of doing another photo tour here for 2020 simply because it's such a visual feast. For this shot, I used a 14mm wide angle lens and shot straight down on the stunning arrangement of tulips. There are many ways to shoot flowers, of course, and this wide angle technique is one of my favorites. A wide angle lens inherently has remarkable depth of field, and it gives an unusual perspective that we never see with our eyes. That's what makes it so compelling. My settings here were 1/15, f/22, 200 ISO, and I used a tripod.

Debi - I love this place! Sign me up for 2020 ASAP. Also, need to work something in for 18' & 19'.
