This is the famous Witch's Hat rock formation on Bandon Beach on the southern Oregon Coast. Wonderful sunsets do occur all the time here, however the norm for Oregon and the Pacific Northwest is overcast and low clouds. Mid-day was clear and sunny, but then the clouds and fog moved in during the late afternoon, and by sunset time everything was gray. In addition, low tide exposed too much sand around the rock formations for my taste. So, I added a sunset and used the Photoshop plug-in 'Flood' to bring the water level up to what it normally is during high tide. I added the sunset image using a layer mask and thenI brushed away the sunset colors from the rocks with the brush tool. I took this shot with a 16-35mm wide angle lens, and my settings were 1/200, f/7.1, and 200 ISO.
