This image is a 7-frame vertical panorama of the stunning Thistle Chapel in St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh. I used a Sigma 14mm f/1.8 wide angle, and I stitched the frames together in Photoshop. I composed each of the images so they overlap by about 50% so the software aligns all of the intricate detail correctly. I used manual exposure mode so there wasn't any variation in tone between each of the frames. I've used this technique in many European cathedrals; this particular chapel is my favorite.
