This is one of the most photographed farms in Vermont. It is called Sleepy Hollow, and it's near Woodstock. I've photographed it in various types of light and atmospheric mood since the 90's. This shot was taken before sunrise, and the diffused light was ideal to show off the beautiful autumn colors. I used a 24mm focal length, and my settings were 1/60, f/8, and 3200 ISO. I could have used a tripod, but 3200 ISO with my Canon R5 is like 400 ISO used to be in dSLR cameras just 2 or 3 years ago. I find myself using a tripod less and less now, and sometimes I don't even travel with one to save the space and the weight. Only when I know long exposures will be necessary -- such as when blurring the movement of water or doing night photography -- will I carry a tripod with me on a tour.
