This female lion was lovingly playing with cubs from her litter as well as from the litter of another female in the pride. It was the sweetest thing to see. When one of the cubs came to close to my Land Rover, she got up, picked it up in her mouth, and carried it back to where she felt comfortable. I took this shot just before the sun rose. You can never go wrong with diffused lighting because contrast is at a minimum and shadows that might be distracting are absent. My settings were 1/500, f/5.6, and 800 ISO. Note the relatively fast shutter speed. The cubs were in constant motion, and I didn't want to take a chance that they might be blurred. I used a 280mm focal length for this capture.
