This is St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral at twilight that I photographed a couple of days ago, and the reason I especially wanted to photograph it is because of the stunning baby blue exterior. Cities and architecture almost always look better just before dark with a cobalt blue sky, and I think the contrast between the deep blue of the sky and the ethereal blue of the structure is especially compelling. I was hoping for a snow fall so there wouldn't be tracks in the snow, but no such luck. Still, I like the picture a lot simply because it's such a great subject. I used a tripod, and my settings were .6 seconds, f/8, 200 ISO. I used Canon's 16-35mm III for the shot. Note that you will get this kind of cobalt sky no matter what the weather is. Conditions such as a clear sky, rain, overcast, and fog will all produce the same kind of color in the sky just before dark. I used a daylight white balance for this picture.
