Here is another shot from the 'Georgia abandoned' itinerary. It's train cars abandoned in Hartwell, Georgia. To make this image really pop, I replaced the boring sky with one showing storm clouds, and I also added a lot of clarity and vibrance in post-processing. In addition, I find that using the burn tool to darken the foreground is a good way to force attention on the subject. What makes this picture work for me is the faded red color of the caboose. I used a 16-35mm lens set to 16mm for this shot, and my settings were 1/80, f/16, and 1250 ISO. Given how we can raise the ISO now to dizzying heights without a loss of quality, I find that I am using a tripod less and less.
