What seems like a drone shot of an old English manor is really an illusion. I am in England right now fine tuning my upcoming (in September) England and Wales photo tour, and at the beginning of the itinerary I'll take the participants to Bourton-on-the-water, a charming village in the Cotswolds. There is a model English village built to 1/9th scale here; it opened to the public in 1937. This structure, which has weathered and aged for almost 100 years, is about 3 feet tall. Standing and shooting downward with a 16mm wide angle lens made the shot seem like it was taken from a drone or even a helicopter. My settings were 1/125, f/14, and 3200 ISO. The materials used to make this and the other structures look real are identical to what was used to construct the real village. It's just amazing.
