One never thinks of cape buffalo as having romantic tendencies, but this picture shows a different side of an animal famous for its aggression and nasty temperament. They have been known to charge safari vehicles, and if lions attack one of their herd, dozens of buffalo may turn around and attack the lions. They are not to be messed with, yet this picture shows a tender moment. I photographed this couple a few minutes after seeing the blue eyed elephant from the previous post. My settings for this were 1/320, f/5.6, 1600 ISO, and I used a 100-400mm lens set to 170mm. The buffalo were actually quite close to the Land Rover.
