I know of a remarkable dragon staircase in Bali, Indonesia, and I've photographed it in the past without models. This time I arranged to bring two dancers to pose for my group, and the colors and the exotic nature of the subjects looked great. The working area in front of the stairs was small because a large table was just a few feet in front of the dragons, so we had to use a wide angle lens to be able to include the whole scene in our shots. I used a 16mm lens for this shot, and my settings were 1/100, f/11, and 6400 ISO. It was obviously dark, and the lighting wasn't even so I had to do a little burning and dodging in post-processing. The relatively small aperture was important to maintain complete depth of field given the camera-subject distance which was about 5 or 6 feet. The closer the camera is to the subject, the less DOF there is.
