My tour group had a ballet photo session today, and I chose a lovely interior with a dilapidated staircase as the setting. Many photographers use a well-known mansion for an indoor shoot, but I checked it out and didn't like it. There was too much furniture in the rooms, and the staircase wasn't as elegant or graceful as I was looking for. Our ballerina model posed beautifully on the stairs, but the narrow steps inhibited her somewhat because it was difficult to balance on her toes in such a narrow space. So, we photographed her posing in front of a wall standing where she could stand on a flat surface. I used one of those poses for this composite. I took this with a 24-105mm lens, and my settings for both images were 1/640, f/4, and 1250 ISO. The lighting on her came from a large open door. This is entirely available light.
