Twilight and night photography of cities makes urban environments look better than they do to our eyes. This occurs because with a long exposure, cameras accumulate light and, in post processing, we can enhance color beyond what is was originally. This row of medieval structures is in the heart of Bruges, and although they looked striking to my eyes, they are even more impressive in the image. The original capture was quite bluish, so in ACR I moved the temperature slider to the right to warm it up, and then I added vibrance, saturation, and clarity. Then I used the shadows slider to lighten the dark portions of the image, and the highlights slider to tone down some of the highlights. I hand held the camera, and my settings were 1/60, f/4.0, and 4000 ISO, so I then applied Topaz DeNoise to eliminate the noise and Topaz Sharpen to give the shot a little punch.
