I am conducting a Photoshop workshop today and tomorrow in my home, so I thought it would be appropriate to do a blog on the creative possibilities with this amazing program. One of the most powerful ways of creating visually compelling imagery is to combine two or more photos into a composite. This is one of things I stress in my workshop, and it truly opens the door to becoming an artist with your camera. A case in point is the three-photo composite above. This consists of (1) a mannequin head, (2) a 10-second exposure of an amusement park ride spinning at night, and (3) 'stars' that I made by sprinkling glitter on a piece of black velvet and shooting it with a star filter. Once you know how to cut and paste images together, you can create pretty much anything you can imagine. It's a great deal of fun.

Jim - Thanks, Bob and Rosemary. Bob -- I'm writing an eBook on my favorite Photoshop techniques right now. It should be available probably the first week in December. Compositing images will be a main focus of the eBook.

Bob Turner - I suggest you create a detailed tutorial (for sale) on this subject. Or combined with some compositing actions. I love your work and enjoy your blog.
