I am designing a new photo tour to England and Wales, and this is 13th century Conwy Castle at dusk. I found an elevated vantage that allowed me to shoot above the rooftops of the town, and in my opinion that made the shot. My settings were 4 seconds, f/5.6, and 200 ISO with a 24-105mm lens. Welsh is one of those languages that, for me at least, is impossible to pronounce, and I am constantly amused by how they spelled their words. There is some kind of vast literary conspiracy against vowels! To cover my bases with respect to contrast, I usually shoot dusk and twilight with a 5- or 7-frame HDR sequence to be sure I've captured all the detail in both highlights and shadows. Here, I used only one exposure, and you can see in the bright highlights there is a little detail lost in some places.
