It's easy to come to Cuba and photograph old cars and colorful architecture, but to make these classic images come together perfectly is another story. Sometimes the elements aren't exactly what you wanted, so that means Photoshop is the only way to create the ideal. In this shot from Trinidad, there were two beautiful houses attached on one side, but then a third structure wasn't that attractive. A fourth building, non-contiguous with the first two, was perfect. So, I used a select and paste technique to combine the best houses that had beautiful balconies and great color. I then replaced the sky with a much better one, eliminated some power lines, and finally added the old Buick to the scene. All of the elements were photographed with a 24-105mm lens.
