I captured the last rays of sunlight on the trees that line a stretch of road in Northern Ireland called 'Dark Hedges.' The only way to photograph this beautiful road is with a telephoto lens so the compression visually stacks the mass of branches that form a tunnel-like canopy. In a situation like this, depth of field is essential. Had any part of this been out of focus, it wouldn't have worked. I used a 200mm focal length, and my settings were 2.0 seconds, f/32, and 200 ISO. I stood in the middle of the road, constantly watching my back for cars, to underscore the symmetry of the composition. Notice the minimal contrast in this scene, typical of lighting moments before sunset.
