I arrived in Venice today for another fabulous photo workshop in this unique, medieval city. Carnival is the best time to visit Venice in my opinion because the photography is so great. There will be a lot of people here during the next two weeks, and if you want to get great shots of the city without the crowds, dawn is the best time to shoot. You get the cobalt blue color of the sky as you do at twilight minus all the people and the commotion. This is the gondola parking lot, so to speak, adjacent to San Marco Square. My settings for this picture were 6 seconds, f/7.1, ISO 250, and I used a 24-105mm lens at the 24mm mark.
