I took this picture in the Tianzi Mountains in China leaning over a precipitous ledge to eliminate the vegetation at my feet. There was a railing -- I'm not that brave -- but still, it was a scary proposition. This mountain range has some of the most unique and beautiful formations I've ever seen. They are now called the 'Avatar Mountains' because this is where James Cameron got his idea for the floating islands in his movie Avatar. These landscapes are most captivating when low clouds and fog swirl about the formations, but in this shot I didn't get that. I have many other images that are ultra dramatic with the fog and mist. I shot this with a 24mm focal length, and my settings were 1/60, f/8, and 640 ISO. I would have used a tripod, but because I was leaning out over, essentially, oblivion, there was no place to support it.

Jim C. - I have never seen these in person, but have wondered in amazement at the photos I have seen. Could you be so kind as to post one of your "dramatic" photos with the fog and mist?
