An easy way to create artistic effects -- to make your images look like paintings -- is to apply several filters on top of each other. For example, to create this rendition of a galloping horse I applied two filters in the Topaz Impressions suite. I applied one filter, saved that image, then I applied the second one. After that, I used the pull down menu command Image > adjustments > hue/saturation to alter the colors, and finally I brought the image back into the Camera Raw Filter and added clarity. Sometimes multiple filters can produce a mess, but much of the time you end up with a work of art. You can also add filters that are not found within the same software. For example, apply a Nik Software filter and then use Topaz Simplify 4 followed by an Alien Skin filter. Doing this moves your images well into the realm of art.

Jim - Thanks for your note, Rosemary. I'm glad you like what I've been selecting for my blogs. I just got back from another car show in Florida -- one of the country's best -- and I'll be posting a couple of shots from there shortly.

Rosemary Sheel - Hi, Jim.
I love the artistic transformations you have been showing lately...the Vermont barn, the philodendrons (?) in the greenhouse, the portrait of the civil war re-enactor and now this. Inspiring!
