Here is another image from the ice storm. It's one of the trees at the corner of the landscaping in the front of my house. The early morning sun yesterday provided beautiful light, and every icicle stands out. I used an iPhone 13 for this shot, and although the file isn't as hi res as my Canon R5, it's easy to have complete depth of field without dealing with shutter speed, ISO, and exposure challenges. Images from the iPhone 13 open as 34.5 megabytes in Photoshop, while the new iPhone 14 opens as about 59 megs. I plan to upgrade when I get back from my Venice tour which starts in a week. With that kind of increased resolution, I wouldn't hesitate to use this camera phone for many kinds of photo opportunities in the future. When I compare the quality of iPhone images with those of my first serious digital camera, the Canon 1Ds Mark II (which cost $8000), the iPhone wins hands down. The technological advances in photography have been stunning.
