I wanted to post a few images from the Brazilian carnival before I boarded a plane for home in a few hours (and then the next morning to Nepal!). It's not possible to get a sense of the scope of the event unless you were there because it's too big, too dynamic, and too unbelievable. From 11pm to 6am the next morning, 25,000 to 30,000 dancing and smiling people parade past the audience in outlandish costumes with huge, extremely creative floats passing by as well. You just don't know what to look at and photograph next because there is so much to capture. I wanted to be everywhere at once.

Jim - I was totally exhausted, Bob, but it was worth it. No photographer should miss the Brazilian carnival.

Bob Vestal - These costumes are amazing! No wonder you made the trip on the heels of Venice.
