This is a panorama of one of the main squares in Bruges, Belgium. It consists of 10 frames, and each exposure was 1/125, f/4, and 6400 ISO. I handheld the shots, used a 24-105mm lens, and oriented the camera vertically. If you try to create a panorama with the camera and wide angle lens positioned horizontally, the lens distorts the edges of the frame just enough so the alignment between frames often becomes unappealingly distorted. Each frame was overlapped by about 50%, and the composite was assembled in Photoshop. The original cobalt sky didn’t blend as nicely as I expected, so instead of messing with the subtleties of sky tonalities, I simply replaced it with a stormy sky from my files. In post-processing, I added the deep blue color to the sky and darkened it to simulate the kind of sky one would expect with twilight and a long exposure.
