This is one of the more remarkable things I've seen in my travels. The Hollamohallo Festival in the state of Punjab, India is a celebration and demonstration of traditional militarism and horsemanship by Sikhs. This man, whose age I estimated to be between 65 and 72, is standing on two galloping horses as he is holding on to a rope with one hand and waving to the crowd with the other! I've never seen anyone at that age take such a risk, although I'm sure he has been doing this since he was a small boy. I took this with my first serious digital camera, the Canon 1Ds Mark II, when ISO was a problem. So, I took this at 100 ISO, and that gave me a shutter speed of 1/400th of a second at f/6.3. Today, I never would have used such a slow speed for this kind of action, but I was lucky and the picture is sharp. This festival was a photographers paradise because the Sikhs were incredibly friendly and everyone wanted to be photographed! Many of the closeup portraits I was able to get are fantastic. I used a 70-200mm lens for this shot.

Bryan - Do you know if the horses are trained to have their feet in sync, or was that just a coincidence in this photo?
