I took this shot of Shanghai from the observation deck on the 100th floor of what is locally called the 'Bottleneck building'. It was taken through angled glass, and to eliminate reflections in the glass from light fixtures behind me in the room I wrapped a piece of fabric around the lens as it was pressed up against the glass. I used a tripod, but didn't extend the legs; instead, I shot through the bottom of the window. There were other people in the observation deck and I didn't want anyone to bump the tripod. My settings were .5 seconds, f/4.0, and 200 ISO, and I used a 24mm focal length. My white balance was set to daylight, and instead of using a cable release, I used the self-timer built into the camera to insure a sharp picture.
