Another image I like from the Siberian tiger shoot during my winter wildlife workshop in Montana is this interaction with a tree. It intrigues me to watch big cats act just like house cats. They have the same antics -- stalking, chasing anything that moves, digging their claws into tree trunks, and pouncing on toys . . . or prey. Snow had fallen the night before, so the ground was covered with fresh powder which made the environment especially beautiful. I used a center cluster of 9 focus points, no exposure compensation for the snow (forcing the image to be somewhat dark, thus protecting the highlights), 14 frames per second, and daylight white balance. My settings were 1/1250, f/8, and 1600 ISO.
