Today was the first morning we didn't have a clear blue sky at sunrise. The day began with scattered clouds, and then an hour later the weather became intense. A dramatic storm came upon us suddenly. The temperature dropped probably 30 degrees (Fahrenheit), and the clouds were outrageous. In addition, the light level was almost like twilight. It was incredibly dark. This is a focus-stacked image consisting of 12 frames at f/10. The wind had started blowing and my shutter was 1/50th at 1000 ISO, so it was tough to maintain sharpness. I took a separate image of the angry sky and layered that into the background. There was no way to capture a picture of the lavender field plus the sky and maintain complete depth of field given the lens I was using (24-105mm), the chosen f/stop, and the proximity to the foreground. The clouds were moving extremely fast, so the focus stack couldn't hold detail in the sky.
