I began my photo tour to the Balkans, and this scene -- St. Stephen Island in Budva, Montenegro -- is one of the iconic shots everyone wants to take. We were fortunate to have an exquisite sunset tonight. Due to the contrast between the relatively bright sky and the shadows on the land forms and the architecture, I took this with a 5-frame HDR sequence in one f/stop increments. Since there were no depth of field issues (because nothing was close to the foreground) I chose an aperture of f/5.6. The only thing I did to this image in post-processing was clone out some unattractive buildings in the lower right corner.
