The good life

Given the terrible events that have been visited upon our country over the last two months, I thought a bit of humor might be in order. This is a composite of three images: the terrace I photographed in Salobrena, Spain; the Siberian husky puppy I set up in a studio and who fell asleep on the bench during the photo session; and a black cat I captured in Mojacar, Spain who was sitting on the top of a stairway (this was a gutsy one-second exposure from a tripod). I placed the sunglasses on the puppy while he was asleep. I used the pen tool in Photoshop to make the precise selections even between the slats of wood in the bench. Finally, I cloned out the reflection of the soft box in the plastic sunglasses in keeping with the diffused ambient light of the background.
