The first year I led a photography tour to Venice during carnival, my wife, Indiana, made a costume and modeled for my group in the 16th century palace. Venice is cold in February, so obviously this costume was made for an interior shoot. The music room in the palace is cavernous, and to emphasize its size I used a 14mm wide angle lens to encompass much of the area. The reason both my wife and the piano have an exaggerated perspective is not just due to the focal length of the lens. I was shooting from just 4 feet away, and the close proximity made the immediate foreground disproportionately large compared to the background. My settings were 1/6, f/2.8, and 1000 ISO.
